Happy Wednesday, Happy New Moon, Happy New Year!
We are set with an excellent cosmic context starting this new calendar year with a Super Moon — meaning 5 planets share one astrological sign at the same time — the Moon, Sun, Venus, Mercury and Pluto all in Capricorn. This makes a particularly special conjunction with the Sun and Moon balancing Shiva and Shakti. A great time to build a new solid foundation, adjusting structures in life, ridding of old ways and creating foundation with new structure for this new year. It’s a wonderful time to look at where you’re doing too much, and where you’re not giving enough. Capricorn is a very hardworking sign on one hand, yet on the other hand needs to get going. Our astrologically symbolic goat eats just about anything to make it to the mountain top so regarding relationship, oneself, finances, home, business we’re encouraged to look at ourselves a little differently. Take this as the naturally new beginning it is to learn to be flexible, build slowly and grow securely. Especially with this exciting and powerful new year ahead, let’s pay particular attention to the many interesting aspects moving from 2013 to 2014.
Note, we have been in a Cardinal Climax since 2008 that goes through 2016. Contrasting ways in the heavens appear with Jupiter (a very powerful planet) in Cancer which means either we’ll crash with pressure or rebuild with positive energy and Saturn in Scorpio which implies we’ll gain discipline in the darkest corners of our existence.
From the first five months of this year, we have 3 planets moving so slow they appear to move backwards.
Venus retrograde (December 7, 2013 – January 30, 2014)
Mercury retrograde (February 6 – February 28)
Mars retrograde (March 1 – May 20)
All this meaning we’ll see reversals, changing and renegotiations for the first half of 2014.
Watching all the planets we see a Square of Neptune where public persona and honesty will come out. Tests of being transparent and truthful. This will help salvage us, or lead to downfall by failing. Mutual reception to Saturn helped us throughout 2013. Questioning how sustainable our structures have been is the theme. Neptune, Saturn, Jupiter trine help lend to spiritual awakening, connecting with like-minded people, creating and maintaining sustainable communities. Jupiter in Cancer means focus in on homes, families, real estate, food and catering which all lend to great success. Jupiter in Leo after July 2014 helps love and courage revive. Along with the energy of Uranus in Aries squaring Pluto in Capricorn through 2016 we see Pluto (the grounded structures and systems) challenged by Uranus (the new, exciting, change). Jupiter (the planet of expansion) in Cancer squares with Uranus, opposed Pluto forming a T-Square which means there’s drive to make a difference. Likely to intensify things, whether good or challenges, we’ll likely see the good things growing and at the same time, all the rotten things are going to be polarized and change. Mars transitioned into Libra December 7, 2013, then goes Retrograde in March making Mars in Libra for nearly 7 months total, twice as long as is normal. Giving us a Grand Cross. Connecting with upward and higher energy, balanced with downward and grounding energy and a lateral balance out to each side. There’s an equal pull or extension toward the highest good for you and for all.
Is there any ease? Yes. There’s a Grand Trine between Neptune in Pisces, Saturn in Scorpio, Jupiter in Cancer — making an easier flow of energy. Opportunities in business, less greed and jealously, new ideas in exchange, creativity in the arts and design. Overall, this is a year for taking action, devising simple steps to get there, your strategy from the ground up, especially regarding something you want to build to endure the test of time. Be frugal like the Capricorn (the goat) using ingenuity to make your process and path more effective. Bottom line this year is rethinking how we use our energy, heal ourselves and our planet. We best deal with these aspects in our lives with curiosity, clarity, ease and purpose at Pure Prana. Look at all the cosmic forces as changes for the better — personally and for all humanity. We are evolving consciousness after all.
